My Impression From “All Summer In A Day” Short Story

I was very angry and sad after reading this book. I was furious at William and Margo’s inconsiderateness. I wished I could have been there to hurt William’s feelings as he bossed Margo around. I was also extremely sad when Margo and the other children went to bed. It was even more sad when they realized, but none of them wanted to admit it.

Margo would have told William not to come near me if he was my mother. I would have screamed till my lungs stopped pumping to get outta the closet. It is unfair that the children were jealous. They should have accepted Margo’s earthly origins and her ability to remember the sun. We need to make Margo’s story right. William should have been locked in the closet. Margo should’ve stood up and taken responsibility for her actions. The book’s title doesn’t suit me. All Summer In A Day is the title of the book. The title of the book should change to All Summer In Two Hours. Venus is a planet that rains seven year a year. However, the sun only rises twice yearly on Venus. It is said that summer occurs in one day. But, in reality, it only lasts two hours. The story would have a more realistic portrayal of the feelings of the children before they read it. It would prompt readers to reflect on the three months of summer they spent enjoying it. It would encourage them to share their summers with Venusian people.

All Summer in a Day is fiction. The book is set on Venus, which has not yet been colonized. The teacher was not attentive to students in a professional manner. Margo’s missing teeth could have been a larger problem if the teacher had not noticed. Teachers are now more concerned about you going to the toilet if your questions aren’t answered. This story doesn’t tell us anything about Venus, it is a sad story with a moral. It could have been a non-fiction story if it did contain facts about Venus.

This book reminded me of my mother. She wanted to go outside after her surgery but she couldn’t, as she was still hurt. SHe felt just like Margo as she was trapped in her house while the rest of us played outside. Margo was kept in her closet, while Margo and the children spent the two hours outside in sunlight. Because of her surgery, my mom lost a lot of her life. Margo’s life was cut short by her missing the sun.

This book deals with jealousy. Margo is jealous because of this, and it’s easy to see why. They are jealous of Margo because she can recall the sun. It’s not surprising that she is from Venus and not earth. This book also focuses on forgiveness. Margo is expected to forgive her children for locking Margo away. Margo is free to forgive them. Margo is not likely to forgive the author, which made the story a cliffhanger.
